Lyre Letter A L P H A B E T A C H A P T E R O F A L P H A C H I O M E G A A T P U R D U E U N I V E R S I T Y SPRING 2019 THE NEXT 100 YEARS: ALPHA BETA LOOKS FORWARD TO CONTINUED SUCCESS AND COMMUNICATION T he year 2018 marked a significant mile- stone for the Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega as we celebrated our centen- nial and made significant upgrades to the chapter house. The Centennial Campaign Committee, Home Corporation Board and chapter members greatly appreciate the contributions and financial commitments made by our sisters and friends. The chapter is in good standing on multiple levels—recruitment, financials, membership, academics, philanthropy and more. The various successes of our sisters we have highlighted over the past few years in anticipation for our centen- nial are something to be proud of and we hope to continue to celebrate for years to come! While our centennial has passed, there is still work to do. We heard from many of you during the campaign that you wanted to stay connected with the chapter and sisters and hoped our communications would continue. We heard you! The Home Corporation Board has generously decided to continue a communications and fundraising contract for the years ahead. You still have stories to share and sisterhood memories to make so continue to share, communicate and gather. We would like to continue to feature our alumnae in future newsletters and update you about everything happening at Alpha Beta. The chapter house will continue to need upgrades, big and small and we hope to meet this need with help from our alumnae sisters. Purdue University saw an unusually high (and amazing) number of women participate in sorority recruitment last fall, which was great news for Alpha Beta and Alpha Chi Omega. As we all know, the sorority experience is wonderful and unique, so we must remain competitive, not only with our chapter house but our member experience and alumnae engagement. We ask that you give as you can to help us meet our goals and provide a safe, modern and beautiful house for our active and alumnae sisters alike. You can find more information on how to continue financially supporting Alpha Beta below. April 26 will mark Alpha Beta's 101st birthday and we hope you took a moment to reflect on our sisterhood, call a sister, give back to the chapter or celebrate a real, strong woman in your own way. We will continue to stay in touch and hope you do the same. Don't hesitate to visit the chapter when you're on campus or reach out about how you can give back through recruitment recommendations, a financial commitment or mentoring a chapter member. Our alumnae sisters are mentors and role models to our next generation of Alpha Chi Omega women. Celebrating with many of you last fall was truly a highlight of our sisterhood! We want to thank all of you who contributed to the campaign and those of you that will continue your commitment to Alpha Beta! "Together let us seek the heights" each and every day. Thomas Glick '04 katie.mae.thomas@gmail.com | (317) 902-7677 Sisters, Continue Supporting Alpha Beta E ven though the active part of the Centennial Campaign is over, you can still support Alpha Beta through our newly launched annual campaign. Annual campaign funds are separate from the capital campaign but are still important to Alpha Beta's success. Your annual gifts will support continued chapter house projects and maintenance, alumnae communications and various needs to jumpstart Alpha Beta's next 100 years. You will continue to be able to give directly to the Alpha Chi Omega Home Corporation Board (non-tax deductible) or the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, directed to: Alpha Beta Housing Fund (tax-deductible). When you do, your donation will be identified for use by the Alpha Beta Chapter. Gifts to the Foundation allow you to continue supporting Alpha Beta's educational needs and renovations. However you choose to support Alpha Beta, your gifts are appreciated and will be put to good use!
