Recipients are selected by a vote of the entire faculty of the college. The candidates are reviewed based on their accomplishments in their field, involvement with the college through board activities, recruitment or other collaborative programs, and support of the college. They provide a free Count the Kicks app that allows expectant mothers to track their babies' movements in the third trimester. The organization has reduced Iowa's stillbirth rate by 26% and is launching a Missouri branch this year. Emily lives in Clive, Iowa.
