CUMBERLAND Cumberland Citizens��� Academy Taking Applications Library To Host Job Fair March 12 Cumberland County is accepting applications for the next Citizens��� Academy, which will be held March 5-April 16. The academy is free and held for seven consecutive Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m. at various county government locations. The Citizens��� Academy helps citizens gain a better understanding of what county government does and how the various departments play a vital role in the community. You must be a Cumberland County resident to apply. The application is available online at www.co.cumberland.nc.us. The Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center will host a job fair at the Headquarters Library at 300 Maiden Lane in Fayetteville on March 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Larry Gavin, branch manager of the West Regional Library, said participating employers will represent technology, hospitality, manufacturing, sales, FRQVWUXFWLRQ VWDI��QJ RI��FH SURGXFWV DQG government agencies. Educational institutions will also be on hand. ���Job seekers should come to the job fair dressed accordingly, prepared for interviews,��� Gavin said. State of the County���s Health Report Released The Cumberland County Department of Public Health has completed and released the State of the County���s Health (SOTCH) report for 2012. Community Transportation Offers Rides For Eligible Citizens The Cumberland County Community Transportation Program (CTP) offers safe, dependable, accessible and affordable transportation to eligible county residents. The CTP provides transportation for eligible elderly and disabled clients to medical appointments (non-dental) and pharmacy trips (to pick up prescriptions) in Cumberland County.
