You may have seen some of its featured artists in exhibits at the Arts Council, the Gilbert eater, the Cape Fear Regional eatre or in the Rosenthal Gallery on the FSU campus. Some Ellington-White enthusiasts even went on an art tour with the gallery around town this winter. On the "All About Art Tour," two busloads of gallery members visited a number of other art exhibitions around town and rounded out the tour with champagne and chocolates at their final destination, the Ellington-White. e excitement for art at the Ellington-White is being reflected by others in the Fayetteville arts community, Mims said. e Art for all Seasons Walkabout, a fairly new venture that features eight art venues aer hours on designated dates each season, has had a successful first year. Participating sites, like the Ellington- White, each hang a special flag outside their business on the walkabout dates to indicate involvement. "e Walkabout gives visitors to our city something unique to do and a way to engage in the arts on a night out," Mims said. Smith and Mims think this new effort is a great step in the right direction to re-galvanize the visual arts community here in Fayetteville.
