Jesse is quick to laud the efforts of those who support
causes dear to his heart and those who help keep his home
in immaculate condition. His landscaper, Steve ornton of
Brasswood Landscaping, has maintained his yard for fieen
years. Of passing the baton to Steve, he said, "It's the best
thing I ever did. Not only does his crew do good work, he is
an outstanding person."
Ola Owens is his beloved housekeeper, Claudia
Treadaway lends a hand with interior design and John
Melvin, of Flowers on Main, gets credit for Jesse's
exceptional floral arrangements. John helps him deck the
halls around Christmas, too. "I got too old to worry with a
Christmas tree," he laughed, but visitors don't miss it. As
in every season, his home is classically appointed, and of
course, as Jesse Byrd puts it, always a bit of "fun."
