a large Bukovnik print for the space,
which cleverly ties together the living
and dining areas. Jesse laughed. "is
piece is a print, but the same artist," he
said. "It's number seven of I don't know
how many. My decorator daughter tells

In the breakfast room, the walls are
a lively kelly green and illuminated by a
multicolored crystal chandelier. Always
a crowd pleaser, the unique chandelier
draws compliments and a touch of
envy. Jesse smiled, recounting his
participation in last year's Christmas
Tour of Homes and how people loved
this chandelier. One visitor even asked
to buy it. "It is a devil to clean," Jesse
noted.

His house is inviting and so is he. "I
still have a party once in a while," he
said.
Passionate about philanthropy, Jesse
doesn't mind opening his home if it
means dollars raised for a good cause.
In 1991, he lost Irene to cancer, but
she le a legacy of giving. e couple
were part of the volunteer group that
established the Friends of the Cancer
Center at Cape Fear Valley Health
in 1989. is year, an endowment
created by Jesse in her honor edges its
way close to one million dollars. "I'm
happy I can do that," he said. "You
don't realize how many people have
a financial need or how many people
contribute to the foundation until you
work with them. at's one thing that
means a lot to me."
