A tremendous amount has changed in a mere six years! During spring break of 2013, Jayne Fisher had the daunting task of overseeing the move of 45 members of Delta Mu from the old Round House into the new Tri Delta House. Jayne has served as house director for the last nine years. She manages the house and staff, oversees expenditures, orders supplies, deals with vendors and contractors; in short, every day is a different day often filled with surprises, chaos, and crises, all handled with patience and fortitude. However, and most importantly, Jayne always has the well-being, health, and happiness of each member as her number one priority. Greg Kizziah has worked for Delta Mu since 2007, and while we call him our grounds supervisor, he really wears many, many different hats. Greg's duties include the maintenance of the facility and grounds and overseeing various projects. Needless to say, Greg knows every nook and cranny of the house, and he has a vast understanding of all our plumbing, electrical, HVAC, irrigation, audio visual, and kitchen systems. Through calamities and mishaps, Greg's pleasant and unflappable demeanor is unwavering. We are fortunate to have a wonderful staff at Delta Mu, and they have adapted to the growing demands of overseeing a much larger building and home to our members. The Round House was 16,000 square feet with 45 residents, compared to 40,000 square feet and 66 residents today. The membership of the Chapter has grown too. This year Delta Mu has about 410 members. Consequently, about 3,000 meals are served every week. However, some things remain unchanged, as "Fried Friday" remains the most popular meal! Please consider joining us on Sunday, April 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the dining room of the Tri Delta House for our annual House Corporation meeting. All alumnae are welcome to attend. At this meeting the slate for directors of House Corporation will be presented. Additional nominations may be made from the floor. Thank you for your support of Delta Mu. And, always feel free to contact me with any suggestions or issues regarding the house.
