A Struggling Facility. T he house at 3030 Daniel Avenue has been the epicenter of this sorority since it was built in 1956. Our home provides sleeping, dining, and study space; a meeting room for ritual and sorority business; a showcase for recruitment; and a safe haven to relax with sisters. Unfortunately, the house is no longer capable of providing for the current and future women of Alpha Xi. As the house stands today, the chapter room is too small for the membership, the technology infrastructure is inadequate for academics, and the kitchen and dining areas are incapable of feeding all chapter members. Additionally, the SMU landscape has changed dramatically in the last 60 years. Multiple new academic centers have been erected, the football stadium has been demolished and a more impressive athletic facility has been built, and student housing amenities have gone luxury. More critical for Alpha Xi: nearly all sorority houses have been torn down and replaced with new construction. WE NEED YOUR HELP IF WE'RE TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING LEADERS WHO LIVE OUR VALUES AND VISION; WOMEN WITH A HEALTHY CONFIDENCE AND VOICE TO IMPACT THEIR COMMUNITIES.
