Local Artist Breaks Out by STACIE SIEGAL Country music lovers needn't look far to see one of Fayetteville's own country artists. It will only be a matter of time until he obtains widespread recognition in this area. He already has a start to sharing his music with the community. He was the featured halftime performer at the Crown Coliseum for the FireAntz Military Appreciation night during the holiday season, and has performed at other local functions in the area. Trae Edwards' musical experience began at a young age in Alabama and carries over to his years as a studio singer in Nashville, Tenn. For 18-20 years, he sang background vocals for the stars. To understand where he is professionally now, let's go back a few years. To get the full story, Up & Coming Weekly had a Trae Edwards conversation with Edwards. He spoke about living in Alabama and Nashville for awhile. However, Edwards eventually moved to Fayetteville to be closer to his father, who was in the insurance industry. Since being here, he has been working on material and his career is really starting to take off. Even though he's made some recordings locally, Edwards explained that "Matt Crump from Sandhills Music is helping put together some local guys," to help create a band. Edwards and his band had a busy year putting out the "I Believed" single and a Christmas CD. It is available on all the online selling points, such as iTunes, Spotify and Google Play. Things are picking up fast for this artist and his band. Edwards was backstage of The Oak Ridge Boys, Ronnie Milsap and Diamond Rio recently at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium, and he was warmly received. The musician made an impression with his new CD and music video, "I Believed." Joe Bonsall of The Oak Ridge Boys, said, "Look out for Trae. I also love his new song, 'Killing Myself To Stay Alive.' It's very relevant, and besides, the boy's a great singer." Edwards is currently assembling his band of Nashville musicians for an upcoming tour. Not only is Edwards a musician, he is a photographer, too. He has a Nikon D3X and D300 and fans shouldn't be surprised to find him shooting weddings in the area. He also has a background in graphic design. However, he is devoting the bulk of his time to his music career, which is starting to take off. Other important information to take note of is the fact that he is also working with a publisher and promoter out of Nashville. You may soon be able to purchase a Trae Edward's CD at Cracker Barrel as well. Get all current news and updates from www.TraeEdwards.com STACIE SIEGAL, Contributing as well as on Facebook and Writer.
