All sessions includes both two and three-dimensional activi- ties, as well as printmak- ing. Younger students enjoy a wide variety of art instruction, with assignments geared toward shorter attention spans. Complex work is interspersed with fun activities. “This environment enables children who Sponsored by Downtown Red Bluff Business Association work slowly and deliber- ately to learn along side those who work more quickly,” said Morris. Student teacher ratio is four to one and there is an intern at each table to help with instruction and supervise the class- room. Classes for the Sum- mer Art Academy make use of the Department of Art’s excellent facilities in Ayres and Taylor Halls. Morris said one of the goals of the art acad- emy is support the edu- cational mission of the Janet Turner Museum. “Janet was first and foremost a teacher of printmaking. We wish to honor all she gave to her students and to the Uni- versity by creating an environment for students to explore and increase their knowledge and skills in art, but especial- ly in printmaking. By providing the public with this academy, we help keep Janet's vision and drive alive.” Shoppers discounts & restaurant specials at participating merchants WELL-BEING FAIRE Wine & Mamma Mia at the State Theatre Wine @ 4pm Movie @ 5pm Saturday May 22 10am-4pm China Buffet CHINESE RESTAURANT Open 7 Days A Week Sunday Buffet Special $ 9.99 Expires 5-30-10 COUPON China Buffet Happy Hours Mon. & Tues.
