KURT WILDER '81, SIGNIFICANT SIG
Alumnus Joins Long List of Theta Theta Recipients
K
urt Wilder '81 was recently honored with our International
Fraternity's Significant Sig Award, becoming the 33rd Theta Theta
to achieve this honor. Significant Sig medals are awarded to our brothers
whose achievements "have brought honor and prestige to the name of the
Sigma Chi Fraternity."
In May 2017, Kurt was appointed the 112th justice to the Michigan
Supreme Court by Gov. Rick Snyder. He served as a judge on the Michigan
Court of Appeals from December '98 to May '17, and as a judge of the
Washtenaw County, Michigan, trial court from May '92 to December '98.
He has also served as a president of the Michigan Judges Association and
as chairman of the State of Michigan Community Advisory Board.
One of the leadership roles Kurt took on as an undergraduate was
Magister. Three of his pledges (Dave Train '84, Todd Halsted '84, and
Tom Roth '83) currently serve on House Corp. Many thanks to Rick
Simon '79, who organized a reception at the Michigan League so we could
celebrate with Kurt.
