Wolverine Sig page 2 New Membership Pushes Theta Theta to New Heights Undergraduates Seek to Improve Alumni Relations A lthough this has been a tough year for Greek life, it has been one of great growth for the Theta Theta Chapter of Sigma Chi. Thanks to our pledge class of 23 members, Theta Theta is the largest it's ever been. New members have shown initiative both in day-to-day responsibilities and in seeking management and officer positions. Our Chapter GPA continues to excel, and Brother Elliott Marshallsay '19 continues to represent us well on the Social Responsibility Committee (SRC). Brother Kurt Wilder '81 was recently awarded the Significant Sig Award, for which we held a celebratory event where all the undergraduates got an opportunity to connect with him. We participated in many philanthropy events, Puppies on the Porch being one of our favorites. With the help of a sorority, we were able to raise $5,000 in a day. We are already planning fundraisers during Derby Days, which will be held this winter. The brothers' involvement in sporting events has been exceptionally high as well. Our intramural flag football team recently won a championship, and we also have teams in indoor soccer and volleyball. Our Chapter is also planning an alumni directory, sorted in terms of location, occupation, graduating class, etc., to improve local alumni relations. This will not only help our Chapter raise money for philanthropy events, but also help undergraduates get career guidance and find internships. We continue to explore strategies for a fun and safe social atmosphere. Before the new national policy of banning hard liquor, we had already passed a rule in the IFC banning it, making for a smooth transition. After finishing the semester strong, we will go back home representing Sigma Chi in a positive manner, actively maintaining contact with our brothers across the nation.
