We are excited to welcome these young women to Alpha Xi Delta! Epsilon Calls page 6 fund for furniture and lighting. It all started because my dream had a beautiful chandelier in the entryway! There were so many people that touched my heart and supported our common goal. Kathy Jones Schladweiler '67 was a constant supporter. We became great friends! I called her for advice and a confidence boost. She was also a fantastic fundraiser! Connie Hauck Rosso '65 called me and said, "I talked to my husband and told him how much Alpha Xi Delta means to me. I want to double my pledge!" Lynda Menke Barley '65 called numerous times to donate more, use her husband's company for matching funds, and even helped with fundraising in Arizona. Bonnie Untereiner Bjork '73 is such a hero for Alpha Xi Delta! She was and is a constant support for our great sorority! My pledge class donated over $300,000 and added more as the campaign progressed. Linda Lea Crampton Viken '64 upped her pledge during a crucial time in the campaign. I wanted to reach through the phone and hug her. These are just a few of the people that really touched my heart! We had donations large and small from every age group. Some made monthly contributions with credit cards. Others worked on campus or made decisions that supported our campaign. Part of my dream was to feel the joy of knowing our sisters had all come together to make a new house a reality. I now know that so many of us had that same dream. During the campaign, we gained so much more than a beautiful new house. We got reconnected as sisters. I think Cora Bollinger Block, our first president of this great sorority, would be smiling! We have hit it out of the park. With the celebration of our new house and working together for a common goal, we have unity, goodwill and love flowing between sisters. Let us keep this momentum going so that our future will be even brighter than our past! Yours in Alpha Xi, Mary Brandon Miller '67 Campaign Chairman | (248) 321-0587 Alumnae Support Makes a Difference (Continued from page 5) Epsilon Excitement Continues! I n August, recruitment was held and we welcomed 45 new members! We were able to show off our new home throughout the week and really solidify ourselves as one of the top sororities at the University of South Dakota. Our chili feed was held in October at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion. The chapter raised around $2,000 to benefit Autism Speaks and will have an additional Krispy Kreme fundraising event in December around finals week! We held our annual sisterhood retreat at Clay County Park. Sisters had a chance to share ideas and connect with each other on a more personal level. Greek week was held in September and members had some fun with a little friendly skit competition. We are so thankful for the support from all of alumnae. We would not be the chapter that we are today without you laying the foundation over the years. Be sure to stop by if you're ever in town! Yours in Alpha Xi, Emily Badura '16 Outgoing Chapter President emily.badura@coyotes.usd.edu Our chili feed in October was a big hit! We had a fantastic time during recruitment week.
