We revitalized these goals during our campaign to raise funds for our beautiful, new house. It is time to celebrate. I want to thank and acknowledge Mary Duncan '98 and the Epsilon Corporation Board for their hard work and leadership in bringing together a team to build this beautiful house. As capital campaign chairman, raising money for this project, I want to share what I felt. We not only built a house, we built a network of cooperation and love between sisters. This project renewed friendships and reminded us how much we love our sisterhood and what our sorority stands for. In some cases new friendships were formed. Class leaders reconnected with their sisters. We gathered at reunions large and small. We all had a common goal to build a brand-new house. But in reconnecting with sisters, we shared our experiences living in the house and how Alpha Xi Delta enhanced our lives! We built a unity and a renewed appreciation for our sorority. During the campaign, partly to calm myself, I would close my eyes and visualize a beautiful new house and the feeling of walking into the entryway and knowing Alpha Xi Delta would have a bright, secure future! Part of this visualization involved a beautiful chandelier right as you walked in. When Mary Duncan told me the amount allotted for furniture and lighting early in the campaign, I was alarmed! A lighting design, based on our budget, was sent out and I couldn't accept it. This didn't fit into my dream! I knew that we needed to build a house first. I could understand that. We didn't have enough money. So in a few days, I called Linda Eagan '65, Vicki Foley '65, Mary Ann McAtee '67, Cynthia Jewett '67, Kay Olson '68, Carol Ricciardello '76, and Mary Ricciardello Sandvig '74. Together we quickly raised a $70,000 matching Alumnae Support Makes a Difference Mary Brandon Miller '67 Reflects on Capital Campaign (Continued on page 6) "Part of my dream was to feel the joy of knowing our sisters had all come together to make a new house a reality. I now know that so many of us had that same dream."
