MU MESSENGER 4 I n January, we introduced a new CMT and JCMT, who have been doing a spectacular job! We knew coming in that we had some massive shoes to fill, but I can confidently say how proud I am of these women for stepping up to take leadership positions. We could not do this without the help of our advisors, so I would like to extend a huge thank-you to them, who have taught us how to be better leaders, better ΔΓs and better women. Last spring, we held our Hoops for Troops philanthropic event, benefitting Joining Forces, and raised over $9,000. More than 33 teams participated this year, with Delta Sigma Phi as the champions! The men absolutely loved participating, and a few of the teams asked if they could be on the list for next year too. This fall, 87 members moved into our beautiful chapter house. We have all been so grateful to spend time together and have meals together. This semester has been filled with many events, including recruitment, Homecoming, and Anchor Splash. After a very successful formal recruitment, we welcomed a new member class of 62 women. On October 24, these women will be initiated into Mu chapter. The entire recruitment team went above and beyond their duties to make recruitment purposeful, fun, and effective. We also participated in Mizzou's Homecoming and were paired with the amazing men of Delta Sigma Phi, who helped us have one of the best Homecomings yet! We held Anchor Splash on October 7 and raised money for the Delta Gamma Foundation, splitting our donation between the Foundation Service for Sight programs, the St. Louis Center and Kansas City CCVI. In the Bonds, Paige Randazzo '15 chapter president Mu Chapter Collegians Focus on Philanthropy, Welcome New Members T he members of Mu chapter had a very successful fall recruitment. Chapter members returned on August 5 to spend a week preparing to meet 1,177 potential new members. Much time and energy went into the planning for this year. Chapter leaders focused on a theme of "sisterhood" among members. The true spirit of Delta Gamma was shown to our guests when they walked through the door at 900 S. Providence on August 12. At the conclusion, Mu chapter of Delta Gamma welcomed 62 amazing new members, five over quota. On Bid Day they celebrated Vegas style with the theme We Hit the Jackpot! The new member class includes 17 legacies. Thank you to our Mizzou alumnae who assisted the chapter by writing sponsor forms. The chapter is extremely grateful for your support. Caryll Petre Schultz '81 membership adviser A nchor Splash is a major fundraiser of Delta Gamma collegians where fraternities, sororities and non-Greek organizations compete in creative swimming events with the help of choreographers from the Delta Gamma chapter and is one of the most recognized philanthropic fundraisers in the Greek community today. Along with Anchor Splash, Delta Gamma at Mizzou holds Hoops for Troops in the spring (a basketball competition), which benefits our armed forces. Our chapter was very successful, yet again, striving to raise funds to support Delta Gamma's Foundation efforts!
