This issue of Theta News is dedicated to the memory of our architect, Stuart Scroggs, November 3, 1953-October 24, 2018. 512 Rollins will forever stand as a lasting legacy. THETA CHAPTER OF KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI | FALL 2018 Theta News Alumnae Celebrate Theta Chapter House Warming Fundraising Surpasses Initial Goal O n Saturday, August 25, hundreds of Kappa alumnae, friends, and family members gathered at 512 Rollins to celebrate Theta Chap- ter's House Warming. All who attended were amazed at the grand beauty of our greatly expanded and enhanced Kappa home. From the fur- niture to the fixtures, it's clear that significant thought and love went into the renovations that will support Theta Chapter sisters for years to come. Alumnae greatly enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with their pledge classes, tour the new facility, and spend time with Kappa collegians. They were also able to see the original areas of the house while touring the brand-new spaces. Many commented that the old and new together main- tain the unique quality that is 512 Rollins. A program followed the tours with addresses by Marian Klingbeil Williams '55, Vivian Eynatten Bene- dict '59, and Suzie Calvin Dalton '81. A ribbon cutting was then in order, and Kappa Pickers brought the program to a lovely ending with a medley of well-known songs. Dear Kappa Sisters, As evidenced by the photos in this edition of Theta News, our Kappa Kappa Gamma home is an even more special place today, and we have our 357 wonderful donors to thank. Without their generous support, we would not have been able to expand, ren- ovate, and furnish our magnificent home. Although the house is complete, our work is not done. While we have sur- passed our original $1.25 million goal, having raised $1,313,353 to date, the dedication our alumnae have shown to the future of Theta Chapter is unmatched, so we will continue fundraising with a goal to reach $1.5 mil- lion. It is imperative we continue to raise additional funds so the chapter can comfortably handle the burden of debt that was necessary to make this project possible. If you have not yet given, now is the time. If you have already made a pledge, please consider increasing your commitment. Any additional amount you can give is greatly appreciated. In this season of Thanksgiving, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all who attended our House Warming event, our generous and loyal donors, and to all the board members who have dedicated their time and love to this monumental project. It is certainly a proud day for Kappa Kappa Gamma at Mizzou.
