7 | KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA Continuing the Legacy of Theta Chapter This past August, our chapter was lucky enough to gain 57 intelligent and enthusiastic new members! We are proud to welcome 18 legacies, includ- ing eight Theta Chapter legacies. Even in their first few months, they have represented Theta Chapter gracefully and proudly. On the weekend of Oc- tober 5, our new members were officially initiated into Kappa's sisterhood. Consistent Excellence in Academics As we have in years past, Theta Chapter members proved once again to be dedicated and passionate about their academics. In an impressive feat, 66 percent of our chapter earned above a 3.5 GPA, 44 of those members re- ceiving 4.0 GPAs. In accordance with a change at Kappa Headquarters, our chapter will be putting into place a GPA minimum this semester. We look forward to another initiative through which our members can challenge themselves and one another to continued success in their studies. Hard at Work for Our Beneficiaries Our chapter is currently in the midst of one of our largest events of the year, the Kappa Klassic. The Sunday of Dad's Weekend, our members spent the day on the green, caddying for and golfing with their beloved dads. With such a successful day under our belts, we look forward to spend- ing the weekend with dozens of Greek chapters as they compete for the Greek Klassic title. New this year, our chapter has been using the fundrais- ing platform CrowdChange, which has allowed us to spend less time with paperwork and more time focusing on thanking our beneficiaries, Cedar Creek Therapeutic Riding Center and Reading Is Fundamental, for all they do for our communities.
