Fall 2018 A L P H A E P S I L O N P H I A T T H E U N I V E R S I T Y O F I L L I N O I S Mu Chapter Strand of Pearls HAPPY FALL, MU CHAPTER ALUMNAE! Mark Your Calendars for May 2-3 for Our Mu Chapter Centennial Celebration I hope each of you is enjoying fall. Our members have been very busy with formal recruitment and all of the semester activities. Summer maintenance items were all completed in time for the chapter members to move in to the house, and I am looking forward to my November visit to the chapter. During each House Corporation visit, a thorough inspection of the house is conducted so we can address any needs and plan for future projects to ensure the chapter house is well maintained. The Mu Chapter centennial celebration will be held May 2-3, 2020, in Champaign and is fast approaching. The active planning stage will start in earnest spring 2019 when we will do site visits to potential luncheon locations on campus. Please e-mail aephihouse@gmail. com to volunteer for the centennial planning committee. We hope that many alumnae will be in attendance. On May 2, we plan to have a campus and university archive tour, view the Mu Chapter archives, and record oral histories from alumnae and chapter members to commemorate the centennial and centennial luncheon. On May 3, we will hold a chapter house tour and brunch. Please join us in planning this exciting weekend. We need alumnae assistance in planning this celebratory weekend! House Corporation and the chapter members are so appreciative of the alumnae who have contributed to the Mu Chapter Annual Giving Campaign! Your support and commitment to Mu Chapter is greatly appreciated, and it is important as we work to provide a well- appointed and competitive facility for our members. Housing competition is greater than ever at UIUC with two new sorority chapter houses built recently in Champaign. It is vital that the Mu Chapter house remains competitive with the other facilities. Future needs include new windows on the second and third floors, remodeling of the bathrooms, and air conditioning for both bedroom floors. Please remember to send in your biographical updates so we can share your news in the next newsletter. We love to hear from you!
