Inside... 2-3 Help Us Reach Our Goal Today 2-3 Renovation Pictures 4 The Power of Teamwork 5 Active Brothers Move In SIGMA CHI FRATERNITY AT KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY Fall 2018 T his has been an exciting summer for Sigma Chi at Kansas State! Construction on our home began last December and we completed work in late July prior to undergraduate move-in on August 16. Their reaction to the renovations was great fun to see and they are fully enjoying their new and improved home at 1224 Fremont. Please see pages 2 and 3 for a photo spread of what your generous dollars helped build. Part of our fundraising success occurred as a result of the Maffry Challenge! (Stuart Maffry '78 offered to pledge $100,000 if 30 Sigs or more contributed a minimum of $5,000 each—40 answered his call!). Through this initia- tive, our campaign gained a total of $300,000 ($100,000 from Brother Maffry and $200,000 in new gifts)! Please see page 4 for the names of the 40 brothers that helped make this challenge a reality. To see our vision of a new Sigma Chi KSU chapter house finally taking shape is exciting and a tangible symbol of the hard work and effort our campaign volunteers have invested in this endeavor. However, our work is not done. To date, we have raised $2,597,404, which means we are only $102,596 from successfully reaching our $2.7 million goal. Reaching and exceeding our goal is neces- sary to alleviate our debt and to ensure the chapter is in the best financial position possible. If you have yet to make a one-time gift or five-year pledge to the campaign, please come on board now; it's not too late! If you have already made a pledge, I ask that you consider making an early payment. If you have contributed a one-time gift, I ask that you make that same gift of an equal or greater amount in 2018. The campaign board members realize it has been a long road to see our renovated Sigma Chi home become a reality. But we cannot lose steam now! None of us want to leave the burden of debt upon the shoulders of our undergraduate members, so please join with me in the effort to reduce our debt today.
