FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY

T
he past few months have proven to be some
of the more challenging, yet rewarding
times during my term as president. The chapter
has been faced with an adverse situation of
moving into a brand-new house where culture
and traditions needed to be rekindled after over
a year of separation. Both our freshmen and
sophomores were unfamiliar with everyone
being under one roof and instilling the rich
heritage we hold within our organization has
required strong guidance by our upperclassmen.
In light of these events, however, FarmHouse
has continued to shine bright through their
scholarship, leadership, and excellence.
During the summer, we received results from the
university notifying our chapter we earned a 3.589
cumulative GPA for the spring 2018 semester.
This marks the fifth consecutive semester our
chapter has placed first among fraternities on
campus, and I see no signs of our members' hard
work stopping. Additionally, our recruitment
team successfully recruited 27 new members to
our organization, and they are already displaying
vast amounts of promise in their young careers.
Other exciting events happening this semester
include philanthropies, formals, Homecoming,
and brotherhood gatherings scattered when there
is time.
When reflecting on the time since the semester has
started, I am humbled by the amount of alumni
and families that have graciously donated their
time and efforts to see this organization succeed.
FarmHouse is not a four-year commitment, but
a lifelong commitment, and I am proud to say
this fraternity has gained a remarkable amount
of momentum in the last few years by displaying
excellent academics, high retention rates through
recruitment, and a chapter house that will be a
top-of-the-line facility for years to come. I
cannot give enough thanks to everyone who has
positively impacted the Nebraska FarmHouse
Chapter.
