Campaign Status At-a-Glance As of October 26, 2018 Goal: $1 Million Total Raised: $606,883 Number of Donors: 32 A s members of Alpha Lambda of Lambda Chi Alpha, we have entered our second century of fraternal brotherhood at Oregon State University. Alpha Lambda now leads all Oregon State fraternities in active membership numbers and ranks near the top in almost any way one chooses to measure fraternity attainment. Our current, loy status has not been of chance, not of coincidence, but was built on a solid foundation resulting from the vision, planning, and financial contributions of those who provided our first Monroe Street chapter house; a home where young men, for 42 years, molded and shaped their lives based on national Lambda Chi Alpha ideals and principles, applied locally by Alpha Lambda brothers. In 1964, a second group of leaders worked hard to purchase our second Monroe Street site, resulting in our current chapter house, shaping the lives of young men for 54 more years. Along Alpha Lambda's century-long journey, five of our Alpha Lambda brothers have been awarded the National Order of Merit, many others have served as Alpha Lambda Association Board Members, and still more have served as Hi Pi; all uniting in brotherhood to impact and direct the lives of more than 2,000 Alpha Lambda brothers. Our current High Pi, Dave Leathers, Iota Gamma '82-666, has raised the bar as a chapter advisor, not only locally, but nationally. e Association Board recognizes the pressing need for action in dealing with an outdated facility, acknowledging that a major renovation would fall short of meeting modern fraternity house standards, and has formed both a building committee and campaign board to direct a complete rebuilding of our chapter house, raising the centerpiece of our OSU physical presence to the highest level, exemplary of Alpha Lambda's premier standing among OSU fraternities. With the planning and preliminary design having been completed, now the call has been sounded for the rest of us, for our generation in totality, to step forward, as those who preceded us did in two different generations, in brotherhood as always, memorialized by monetary contributions. What value can we place on providing to those who will follow us, that which was given to us, by those who preceded us? Brothers, I have heard the call, and I will answer it soon by making a pledge to support Alpha Lambda. Won't you join me? See you at the ribbon cutting! Yours in Zeta Alpha Chi, Eldon Foster '64-749 Eldon was High Alpha in 1965-66. His son, Todd Foster '90-1314, served as High Alpha. His youngest son, Troy Foster '98-1496, was a chapter officer, and editor of the Oregon State Barometer the year they won Best Collegiate Newspaper.
