Page 3 MOGUL LU'UWAI '15-1848 Makawao, HI Civil Engineering with a minor in Irrigation Engineering Mogul came to OSU from Hawaii with a primary plan of focusing on playing rugby, in addition to his College of Engineering studies. en his roommates, Connor Hull '15- 1847 and Andrew Ross '15-1861, invited him to a rush event at Alpha Lambda. anks to Connor and Andrew, Mogul joined. "I was part of the university rugby club for three years, but Alpha Lambda membership expanded my network and built relationships that will last a lifetime. One of the biggest reasons I fell in love with ΛΧΑ was because the values that I practice, and learned as a kid, are the same values that Lambda Chi holds and practices every day." A favorite memory from freshman year is when he road tripped with Gabe Geiser- Sweeny '15-1842, Seth Millard '15-1846, and Sean McDermott '15-1837 to San Diego from Corvallis and stayed with Connor and Andrew for spring break. "It was the longest car ride I ever been on and my first of many great trips." Post-graduation in June 2019, Mogul plans to move to Bend, OR, to gain workforce experience and to earn his professional engineering license. Aer gaining this early-career experience in Bend, Mogul plans to return to Hawaii to utilize his engineering experience and to start a family. EJ ALBAUGH '15-1830 Greek Man of the Year- 2018 Tigard, OR Digital Communication Arts "In joining ΛΧΑ, the wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and life circumstances of members really appealed to me. I was drawn to this group of men because they were unique and passionate." EJ recently graduated from OSU and started his own media consulting business, working with local businesses to help build their online presence and promote their services to the community. He hopes to continue into higher-level video production and even become an on-screen talent someday. In college, EJ was part of the College of Business entrepreneurship program. He worked at the on- campus TV station in various roles, including creating promotions for the station. He was nominated for two Emmys and several other awards. He received a scholarship to work at the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas and worked with the award-winning OSU Extended Campus group on their video production team. EJ represented Alpha Lambda at two national conferences. He hosted many events on campus for ΛΧΑ, as well as the greater OSU community. is included being a host for OSU's SING! competition, Battle of the DJs, ΛΧΑ's philanthropic events, and the annual Mom's Club Auction. EJ was named OSU's 2018 Greek Man of the Year given his many contributions to the campus community. Within Alpha Lambda, he was crowned the Roast Master, Live-Out of the Year, and Senior of the Year at the chapter's brotherhood awards ceremony. "Aside from the fun we had living in the house, the traditions and ceremonies are easily some of the most memorable events of my time there. We are tied together with brothers from all corners of the country and being part of that larger brotherhood makes all my experiences even better. ΛΧΑ's traditions, loyalty, and integrity that I learned and lived in college have made me the man I am today." ANGEL MEDRANO '18-1983 Los Angeles, CA Marketing "Being a brother of ΛΧΑ has given me a place to call home even during the summer, keeps me busy, and has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life." Some of Angel's favorite experiences have been supporting ΛΧΑ's philanthropic work on campus and in the Corvallis community. He is involved in the eta committee in planning and executing Alpha Lambda's philanthropy efforts, raising money for local non-profits. Alpha Lambda winning the ΔΓ Anchor Splash and taking second place in SING! during Mom's Weekend were both incredible experiences. "In practicing for SING! as an incoming ΛΧΑ class, we bonded with each other and made great connections with the women of ΑΧΩ, our partner sorority. Establishing all of these new friendships helped define my freshman year experience." On campus, Angel works for Kalmekak Community Outreach as part of the university's diversity and cultural engagement program, assisting students who are low-income, first-generation students and students with disabilities. He joined the Residence Hall Association Council as the Weatherford Hall representative to promote campus engagement for students living on campus. He is now the community relations facilitator for Weatherford Hall, which is a paid student staff position. Within the College of Business, Angel is involved in 16xOSU and Women in Leadership. Both are clubs that use entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better world. He is seeking a marketing internship that will be in line with his degree. Henry Webb '18-2000 Hidden Valley Lake, CA Fisheries and Wildlife Henry joined ΛΧΑ for the core values. "I was impressed to find such an upstanding and morally conscious group of men. Membership has brought countless benefits. I have been extended living arrangements, job opportunities, and new experiences almost every week. I've learned what it really means to be respectful, courteous, yet headstrong and proud." Henry has assisted the social chairman and recruitment chairmen during his first year as a ΛΧΑ member. Next year he plans to run for Alpha Lambda's recruitment chair, High Delta. He has also been a speaker for Give A Dam, an Oregon State organization that helps educate other student organizations about sexual assault and ways to help prevent it in common day-to- day situations. Aer college, Henry hopes to be employed by the Department of Fish and Game on the West Coast. "My focus is on marine ecosystems, so hopefully I will find my way into scuba diving for fish and game, as well as working the law enforcement side." Alpha Lambda's 101 Years (Continued from le)
