page 2 The Carnation Chronicle I t has been an amazing fall semester for Gamma Iota Chapter so far this year. We welcomed 78 new members this past August, put on our first-ever Casino Night philanthropy raising money for Peaceful Paths, had a KROM event at a movie theater, and much more. The exec board has worked hard to ensure that all our members remain engaged and excited about our chapter events, always bringing fresh ideas to the table. For example, we organized a date function to Volcano Bay, Universal's new water park, earlier this semester. It was a huge success, and many of our members came back rejuvenated and sun-kissed! ACADEMICS Our chapter's GPA remains .2 over the average women's GPA at UF, and we are ranked as the seventh highest GPA out of 17 in Panhellenic Council. PANHELLENIC ACTIVITIES AND INTRAMURALS On September 25, we paired with Pi Beta Phi for a yoga class in Bo Diddly Plaza for some de-stressing before midterms. We also compete against other Panhellenic Council sororities for intramurals, this semester focusing on volleyball and flag football. REPRESENTING ALPHA CHI ACROSS CAMPUS We continue to have presenters from Panhellenic Council, Dance Marathon, and Florida Greek Ambassadors come speak during Monday night chapter to ensure our members are well up to date on all new policies and opportunities. We have members representing Alpha Chi Omega on all corners across campus, including SG Senate, Florida Cicerones, Campus Diplomats, and Florida Greek Ambassadors. We also participated in the Homecoming Pageant on October 23. Alpha Chi Omega, while housing 59, is a home to hundreds. We appreciate all of the dedication and contributions that our alumnae give us, as we could never function without all of your support. Please make sure you join us for our annual Thanksgiving dinner on November 15 and Hall of Commitment on November 26.
