OCtOBER 28 - NOvEmBER 3, 2018 Restaurant dives deep to bring flavor of the seven seas to Northwest Arkansas T here's nothing like Mexican restaurant Mariscos Playa Azul on a busy night, especially when there is a Mariachi band playing. Trays full of sizzling fajitas are rushing about, and there is joy in the air. You're greeted and seated, and your drink order is taken. You have a few minutes to take in the colorful atmosphere filled with creativity and culture. After laboring over all the wild and appetizing menu choices, you finally make up your mind and order. The anticipation begins. While some Mexican restaurants may have one or two seafood options, Mariscos has a wide variety of high-quality seafood dishes. For those not feeling so adventurous, of course, they have the classic Mexican favorites like enchiladas and fajitas with chicken, steak and chorizo, and unique innovations of their own. For those seeking to treat their taste buds to the best of the deep-blue sea, you have options. Indeed, their seafood options are where they shine, and what truly make them stand out from their competition. Choose from one of their many broths that include a number of combinations from the sea. From a simple fish or shrimp broth to an octopus, fish, and shrimp combo to one aptly named the Seven Seas, which contains shrimp, fish, mussels, crawfish, octopus, crab legs, and calamari. They craft a number of seafood tostadas including octopus, fish, and shrimp options; or you can choose to combine any two choices— all for under $5. Feel like sharing? They have a handful of shrimp cocktails and ceviche dishes for the whole table. If you're trying to encourage a younger crowd to get into seafood, one of their shrimp dishes will likely do the trick. Shrimp is incredibly popular ocean- fare, and for good reason: the variety of recipes is stupendous. Mariscos Playa Azul definitely has the shrimp options you've been looking for.
