Delta Gamma page 3 M y name is Emily Smith '15 and I am a senior studying diagnostic medical sonography on the cardiac and vascular track. Currently, I am the president and vice president of social standards for Tau Chapter. A few of my favorite memories from my time with ΔΓ have been Anchor Splash, our sisterhood at Title Boxing, and being a member of the honor board. I am looking forward to another semester as a member of the executive board, welcoming new women into our Chapter, and our annual retreat this fall. Tau Welcomes 59 Members to the Bond Last semester, we had plenty of exciting sisterhood opportunities such as our annual Super Bowl party, senior night, a Title Boxing class, and a movie night where we rented out the entire movie theater. We also accepted a spring class of seven amazing women. This was particularly special for our Chapter because we were able to hold an initiation ceremony in the spring. Our recruitment efforts this fall allowed us to welcome 59 women to the ΔΓ sisterhood. Sisters Raise More Than $8,000 for Delta Gamma Foundation In the spring, Tau Chapter logged more than 750 service hours for Service for Sight. Our spring philanthropy event, Anchor Splash, raised more than $8,000 for the Delta Gamma Foundation. Fortunately, our sisters approach their academics with the same amount of dedication and success. Thirty-three members were on the Dean's List, 37 members were on the honor roll, and four members were on the President's List. As the fall semester continues, we look forward to having yet another successful academic semester! Visit Us at 305 S. Summit Vice President of Communication Kasey Dresser '16, in collaboration with the directors of public relations, has attracted great attention to the Instagram and Facebook pages. We are excited to share our values with the University of Iowa community through our joyful photos, support for our sister's accomplishments, and "Why We Chose ΔΓ" posts. We hope this not only encourages potential new members' interest in our sisterhood, but also inspires alumnae to stop by the Chapter house. Tau is always ready to welcome you back! Reflecting on our successful spring semester and looking forward to our fall events, Tau is thankful to have the support of our alumnae sisters. Without you, the beautiful renovations to the ΔΓ Beach would not have been possible. Undergraduate members raise more than $8,000 from the Anchor Splash fundraiser. A Symbol of Hope How Tau Has Prepared Christine Czarnecki '15 for Her Future D irector of Alumnae Relations Christine Czarnecki '15 has had the pleasure of planning Tau Chapter's annual Founder's Day and has witnessed firsthand the multi-generational connection alumnae and active members possess. "It is so rewarding to see the women who shaped our Chapter come back and share their stories. Everyone is inviting and it's clear that each alumna has their own unique and cherished qualities contributing to our ΔΓ sisterhood." Christine's membership has introduced her not only to inspiring alumnae, but also to several opportunities she otherwise would not have experienced. "I've expanded my friendship circle to all of Greek life members and found the courage to lead other campus organizations such as my honors fraternity and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers." These positions have allowed Christine to develop many skills as well as friendships that will continue to assist her through life's challenges. Fortunately, Delta Gamma was the catalyst that started it all. "My sisters saw potential in my abilities and encouraged me to run for several leadership positions. Overall, Tau has prepared me for my future by shaping me to become more philanthropic, hardworking, and responsible. These are all traits I use on a daily basis, and will carry with me for the rest of my life."
