These funds were used to complete our patio renovations, including laying new concrete, updating the landscape design, building a shed for extra storage, and purchasing a grill. Supporting these opportunities helps us continue Tau Chapter's legacy at the University of Iowa. THE MAP TO SUCCESS Meredith Ludens '16 Thanks Tau for Valuable Leadership Lessons E ntering your first year of college is often a daunting experience, and Meredith Ludens '16 knew the gravity of this transition. By taking a leap of faith during formal recruitment, Meredith was able to find a community of women ready to support her. "I joined Delta Gamma because I wanted to be surrounded by women who strove to make the most of their college experience while also focusing on their academics." After becoming part of the Tau sisterhood, Meredith gained the community she was searching for as well as numerous opportunities for self-development. "Delta Gamma definitely gave me the confidence to explore myself and try new things. I felt like no matter what I did or tried, I had a group of women supporting me and wanting me to succeed." By immersing herself in an environment of driven women, Meredith is constantly inspired to not only be the best student she can be, but to also make her sisters proud. She is a double major in political science and history with a minor in international relations. Meredith aspires to attend law school and is interning with Dr. Chris Peters for Congress. "Tau has provided me with values that I know will only help me grow as a leader in the future. When I become an alumna, I still want to be successful and make my Chapter proud to have me as their sister." F rom the moment Rebecca Jakush '16 stepped into the Delta Gamma Chapter house, she could not imagine experiencing life without Tau. "I found some amazing women that I have cultivated friendships with. ΔΓ will now and forever have a special place in my heart. It has been my best and most favorite part of attending the University of Iowa." Whether developing friendships or skills, Tau Chapter has played a large role in shaping who Rebecca is today. "Being a part of ΔΓ has allowed me to learn more about myself than I could have ever imagined. It has taught me how to speak my mind, how to be a leader, and most importantly, how to be a good friend. I have all the women in my Chapter to thank for helping me grow as an individual." As an alumna, Rebecca knows she will carry not only these skills but also her support system of sisters. "I think what I will get the most out of my future with Delta Gamma is always having a network of women nationwide who share the same values as I do. Becoming an official adult and venturing out into the real world is daunting for me, but it makes me feel better to know that I will have sisters wherever I go." ANCHOR-AGING THE FUTURE What Rebecca Jakush '16 Looks Forward to as a Tau Alumna "Being a part of ΔΓ has allowed me to learn more about myself than I could have ever imagined. It has taught me how to speak my mind, how to be a leader, and most importantly, how to be a good friend. I have all the women in my Chapter to thank for helping me grow as an individual."
