2 Minnesota Alpha Today P i Phi collegians excel in many areas, but they are especially proud of their leadership on campus, philanthropic endeavors, academic achievements and service to the community. Greek life at UMN is experiencing unprecedented growth, and Minnesota Alpha's membership is growing alongside the community. Today, Minnesota Alpha has 155 members, many of whom are active leaders within the chapter, the Greek community and the university. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Minnesota Alpha continues to excel academically. e chapter achieved the highest sorority GPA in Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 with a 3.42 and a 3.5 respectively. AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS Minnesota Alpha has been continually recognized by Pi Phi and UMN for achievements in many different categories. Recent awards include: • 2014 Pi Beta Phi Balfour Cup award winner recognized as the national chapter of the year • 2014, 2016 and 2017 Pi Beta Phi Chapter of Excellence "Phi Status" award winner recognized as one of the top 10% of chapters for academics and philanthropic service • 2016 Pi Beta Phi Excellence in Alumnae Advisory Committee Service Award • 2016 University of Minnesota Outstanding Risk Advisory Award • 2017 University of Minnesota Outstanding Recruitment Award • 2017 Pi Beta Phi Excellence in Primary Recruitment Award PHILANTHROPIC INVOLVEMENT Minnesota Alpha hosts a number of fundraisers throughout the year to support Pi Phi's national philanthropy, Read > Lead > Achieve®, and other nonprofit organizations. From "Pie a Pi Phi" to bring awareness to children's literacy and "Pi Beta Phitness," an outdoor yoga event to raise money for Read > Lead > Achieve®, our members are always working to support the community and others. UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA | MINNESOTA ALPHA CHAPTER PI BETA PHI "Friends and Leaders for Life." It's more than just a motto; it's a way of life.
