As a member of the University of North Dakota's golf team, Jon was surrounded by his future Delta Nu brothers. Even though he became a member as a junior, Jon never regretted the decision. "I believe in the fraternal system and I think ATΩ benefits character development of young men. If you value your time with Delta Nu and recognize how it developed you as a person, you should fully support the capital campaign just as I did." Jon created lasting friendships in Delta Nu, which sup- ported him during his time as Worthy Chaplain and the vice president of the Varsity Bards. "Being a part of this brotherhood helped me develop my social skills and direct me into the business life. The relationships I built and the values I learned about treating everyone with love and respect have paid dividends." During Jon's membership, he witnessed chapter numbers grow from just 36 members to 88. While this accomplishment still makes him proud as an alumnus, he is even more proud of the way the undergraduate members have revitalized Delta Nu. "I encourage all alumni to recognize what the current members have done in rekindling the chapter and developing its members. They decided to take on this chal- lenge and have been incredibly successful." Alumni also play an instrumental role in ensuring the con- tinued success of Delta Nu. Whether brothers choose to give time or financial resources, the chapter's legacy will only grow stronger. "If you haven't visited the chapter in a while, I think it would be beneficial for brothers to recon- nect. They should be a presence to our current members because they look up to alumni and need them as mentors." Through Delta Nu, Jon enjoys the connections it gives him to his brothers and the university. "Our era still gets together for a golf tournament. It reminds me of how I was first introduced to Delta Nu and how I can remain in touch with the chapter." Jon resides in Castle Pines, Colo., with his wife, Yolande. They have four children. John even convinced his youngest daughter to join Greek life because of his positive experience with Delta Nu. He can be reached at jd@jondahlonline.com. I believe in the fraternal system and I think ATΩ benefits character development of young men.
