Yard sales are plentiful during warmer months - the department issues approximately 140 yard sale permits, at $10 apiece, each month during the summer. Three yard sales are allowed per ad- dress per year, maintaining residential aspects of neighborhoods. Yard sale permits must also be acquired for sales at commercial properties and private properties and organizations, like schools and businesses. If someone wants to use commercial property for a yard sale, they must have a written letter from a manager or owner of the property. If a church is having a sale at the church, the fee is waived. The permit is good for one day or two consecutive days. Veterans Park Progressing Work on the State Veterans Park in downtown Fayetteville is progressing nicely. Drainage, irrigation and forming for new concrete walkways connecting the Airborne and Special Operations Museum and Veterans Park are complete. Additional work to the sidewalk along Bragg Boulevard and block work for the retaining wall has been started. The walls, rough-in plumbing, grading and drainage are complete for the comfort station and the roof is being installed. The parking lot at the comfort station will be paved soon. To view the progress of Veterans Park, attend the Field of Honor Dedication Ceremony at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum Saturday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Citizens may have three signs up to four square-feet each on the property of the sale and  square-feet, on private property with the owner’s permission.
