Founded in 1850 as California's first independent school, the campus enrolls student in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. e Upper school enrolls students from the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world. e San Anselmo Campus offers day and boarding options. San Domenico will integrate a complete co-ed program by 2016/17, which will increase the student population from 635 to 680. As a major employer, San Domenico employs 170 people, with more than 124 living in Ross Valley or Marin County. e school offers full benefits to employees with 20-plus hours, which is 85 percent of the school's staff. San Domenico has a very generous benefits package, which includes health care, dental, vision, life insurance and a retirement fund that matches up to 5 percent of wages. Employee perks include 10 sick and three personal days each year (pro- rated for part-time staff); 20 to 25 vacation days per year (depending on position) and a locally sourced free lunch, as well as three meals a day for staff with families living on campus and a free ride to and from work within the school's bus system and schedule.
