Sam Stanley Snyder, age 89, of Shelby, NC, went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2018. Born in Caldwell County on August 17, 1928, he was a son of the late Dewey Lee Snyder and Launa Pearl McNabb Snyder. Rev. Snyder served our country in the North Carolina State National Guard during World War II. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Jerry Snyder. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Mae Tedder Snyder; two sons and daughter- in-law, Jerry and Mildred Snyder of Shelby and Terry Snyder of Casar; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and David Devine of Belmont; brother, Keith Snyder of Asheville; sister, Patsy Ann Fowler of Lenoir; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral service was held at Ross Grove Baptist Church, Shelby. The burial followed in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston. Memorials may be made to Jerry T. A native of Cleveland County, he was born to the late Hobert and Zulie Smith Hipps. Mr. Hipps served our country in the U.S. Army in Korea and Vietnam. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony Hipps; a grandson; a granddaughter; brothers, Harold and Dwight Hipps; and sister, Gladys Galloway. He is survived by his wife, Judith Hipps; son, Paul "Brian" Hipps and wife, Patti of Patterson Springs; daughters, Rita Lynn Dyer and husband, Alan of Kings Mountain, Lynn Ann Hipps of Shelby and Rhonda Stokes and husband, Ron of Dallas; sister, Dorothy Stroupe and husband, Mike of Shelby; brothers, Marvin Hipps of Asheville and Jerry Hipps and wife, Judi of Shelby; and eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. INEZ BRADLEY DALE Mrs. Inez Bradley Dale, age 93, of Forest City, NC, passed away on May 27, 2018. Born October 16, 1924 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Bradley, Sr. and Gertrude Frady Bradley. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cleatus Dale; daughter, Merle Dale Toms and three sons, Johnnie Dale, Ronnie Dale and Gerald Dale; a granddaughter; and six sib- Kings Mountain, NC and Kathy Papsdorf and hus- band, Doug of Leonard, MI; one son: John Gregg, Florida; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Born in Sheldon, IA, on March 27, 1926 he was a son of the late, George Francis Miller and Helen Elizabeth Miller. Mr. Miller served our country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, the Reserves; and again in US Air Force during the Korean War, the Cold War, and during the Vietnam Conflict. In addition to his parents Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Dee" Irene Miller. He is survived by his brother, James V. Miller of Joliet, IL; son, LTC (retired) Stephen J. Miller, USAR; daughter-in-law Chong Un Miller; a grandson; daughter, Kathy Miller; and son-in-law, Timothy Elliott. Tom was born in Cleveland County, NC on June 18, 1939, a son of the late William Thomas Erby and Amy Loretta Dover Ware. Mr. Erby is survived by his lings, Ann Bradley Cannon, Ralph Bradley, Jr., Paul Bradley, Alan Bradley and Irene Bradley. She is survived by two daughters, Martha Dale and Marie Dale Funderburke and husband, Scottie all of Forest City; and a son, Cecil Dale and wife, Janet of Salem, SC; sister, Edith Bain of Caroleen; nine grandchil- dren; twenty-three great- grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Popilock served our country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Nash Popilock of Shelby and a daughter, Anna Marie Popilock. Born in Cleveland County on October 27, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Miles Fred Hoyle, Sr. and Inez Murray Hoyle. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four brothers, M.F. Hoyle, Jr., David Hoyle, Murray Hoyle, and Julius Hoyle; and a sister, Sally Pearson.
