The grant cycle opens June 4 and closes June 29, 2018. In 2017, Cleveland Coun- ty Community Foundation awarded $17,500 in grants to 12 nonprofi ts benefi ting res- idents of Cleveland County. The most common grant was $1,000. In 2016, Cleveland County Community Foun- dation awarded $12,400 in grants to 8 organizations. With considerable additional funding available in 2018, the board will consider award- ing one $5,000 impact grant to the most compelling and competitive application. Pro- posals for the impact award are encouraged to identify additional funding sources and partnerships with other organizations. Grants will be awarded to benefi t a broad range of charitable purposes. Priority will be given to requests for projects and programs that address human services: basic needs for food, shelter and clothing. Priority will also be given to requests that ad- dress education: especially projects and programs that focus on fi nancial literacy, youth mentoring programs, and character development.
