Born HAROLD GENE CANIPE Mr. Harold Gene Canipe, age 77, of Crouse, NC, passed away on May 4, 2018. He was born August 17, 1940 in Lincoln County to the late Wilburn and Julia Lucille Christopher Canipe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Lester Canipe, Sam Canipe, Iva Lee Goins, and Mildred Scronce. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Heafner Canipe; sons, Eddie Canipe and Michael Canipe, both of Crouse; daughters, Lori Matney and husband, Timothy of Lincolnton and Elizabeth Godfrey of Vale; three grand- children; siblings, Wilma Sain and husband, Buddy, Clara Cloninger, and Jerry Canipe and wife, Annette; and sister- in-law, Gail Canipe. JENNIE IRENE HOYLE Jennie Irene Hoyle, age 93, of Casar, NC, passed away on May 4, 2018. Born in Cleveland County, on September 14, 1924, to the late John Henry Hoyle and Martha Wortman Hoyle. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John Dewitt Hoyle; son, John D. Hoyle; six brothers, Cletus, Howard, Russell, Tonnie, Grayson, and Ed Hoyle; and three sis- ters, Martha Ann Botts, Donie McNeilly, and Vernie Eaker. She is survived by a grand- son; two great-granddaugh- ters; and a great-great-grand- daughter. The funeral service was held at Corinth Baptist Church. The burial followed the service in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, he was wounded in action in and earned a Purple Heart. In addition to his parents Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Melda Duncan Lynn and one brother William A. "Bill" Lynn. Born on Dec. 17, 1958 in Prince George County, MD, he was a son of the late Joseph Abernathy Bowman Sr. and Doris Gwendolyn Powell. He was employed with Crossmark as a super- visor and was a member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anna Mercier Bowman and a brother, Joseph "Joe" A. Bowman, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mimi Mercier Bowman; two daughters, Kaki Bowman of Kings Mountain and Laney Rikard and husband Buddy of Indian Trail; his brother, John Bowman and wife, Gloria of Polkville; aunt, Donna Staymate of Kings Mountain; and three grand- children, Alexis, Cheyanne and Tatum.
