Some women do not feel they are fully dressed without some type of jewelry accessory. Jewelry is often treasured and handed down in many families, which makes jewelry intended to be not only for appearance, but also as an appreciated family heirloom. Though it can be purchased in most any large department store, making your own jewelry is become a popular hobby. This activity shows the maker's creativity and style. Have you ever had trouble finding that "just right" piece of jewelry to go with an outfit but couldn't due to it not being the right size or color? Then make your own to go with all your repertoire and you will always have what you need for every occasion! The Neal Senior Center is beginning a new group in jewelry making. The group is led by Kathy Spry, expert jewelry maker, and will meet beginning Monday, June 4. The group begins at 9AM until 12Noon. To pre-register for the group, please contact the Neal Senior Center at 704/482-3488 no later than Thursday, May 31. In addition, a printed list of the supplies required for the group is available at the front desk. Operation Cool-Off The Council on Aging has fans to give away during the hot summer months for senior adults. You must be age 60 or above with no air conditioning and in need that lives in Cleveland County. Hot weather is dangerous for older adults and anyone with heart disease, diabetes, or a history of stroke. Please call the Council on Aging at 704-482-3488 if you are in need of a box fan. Incontinent Supplies Are you 55 and over and live in Cleveland County? Are you in need of incontinent supplies? Here at the Council on Aging/Neal Senior Center, we can help older adults in need of these supplies up to once a month. We have bed pads, bladder pads, and pull-ups, all while supplies last. If you or someone you know could benefit from assistance with these items, please give us a call at 704-482-3488 for more information. The Neal Senior Center had a large crowd at their Super Spectacular, held on Friday, May 4, 2018. Thanks to everyone who helped make this fundraiser a huge success for the Senior Center.
