Love what you do." as a tagline. Life Is Good focuses on inspiring optimism in others. Most successful businesses start with a spark, a solution to a challenge. Life Is Good founders were encour- aged by their mother asking a simple question, "Tell me one good thing that happened today." What we focus on, grows. So what if we start talking about what makes life good rather than focusing on the negative? I know, we can't ignore the insanity happening in the world today and we should have these dif- fi cult conversations, but focusing on all the challenges in life is exhaust- ing. The "Shift" happens when we shift our mind to think about our gratitude. Change starts with us. We can focus on solutions, rather than fi xate on our problems. We have that choice every day. "Optimism empowers us to explore the world with open arms and an eye toward solutions, progress, and growth." ~Life is Good. LIFE IS NOT PERFECT. LIFE IS NOT EASY. LIFE IS GOOD. JUNE 7 Town of Quartzsite invites every- one to attend the next meeting of Neighborhood Watch at 6:00 PM, on THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 2018, at the Quartzsite Community Center. Chief William Ponce said he looks forward to working with the resi- dents to create a safer community. Launched in 1972, Neighbor- hood Watch counts on citizens to organize themselves and work with law enforcement to keep a trained eye and ear on their communities, while demonstrating their pres- ence at all times of day and night. Sponsored by the National Sher- iffs' Association (NSA), the Nation- al Crime Prevention Council says, "Neighborhood watch is one of the oldest and most effective crime prevention programs in the coun- try, bringing citizens together with law enforcement to deter crime and make communities safer." He has developed an app for band members to schedule their gigs and coordinate everything else needed for busy mu- sicians. I am so impressed with his abilities as a musician and also as a computer geek. My son found a way to integrate his "day job" into his love of music and his "nightlife." He saw a problem and created a solution, not just for himself, but for his whole in- dustry. When I shared how proud I am of his journey, he told me that he must have gotten that from me. Well, that caught me by surprise. But, then my kids have seen me hold down many "jobs" throughout my life. But they also witnessed how much I loved each and every one of those "jobs." We hear all the time that you got- ta "do what you love," but let's also think about, "Love what you do!" "Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls." ~ Joseph Campbell DEADLINE : WED.
