By Joanne Winer Everyone who comes to the Reader's Oasis Bookstore these past months will notice some changes being made to the inside of the bookstore. An- other thing you will notice is that Paul has been noticeably missing in action. These things has prompted this article to let people know that things are changing and it's a good thing. First of all, Paul has been going through some medical problems that will hopefully be resolved very soon. It has been a real struggle but there is a light at the end of it all now. Thanks to everyone who says prayers for his recovery. As for the bookstore, we are in the process of putting in a music hall for Paul to play more. We are building a stage and putting in one hundred seats. There will be music every day, with Paul and his friends, or others can use it as well when he isn't. Eventually we are going to put in an ice cream parlor as well. This summer, with the heat being so bad, our store hours will be from 9 a.m. til 2 p.m. except when closed for doctor's appointments, etc. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We will also be available to come and open for anyone if they call 2-6 p.m. (928-927-6551) We are only 5 minutes away. Paul's new DVD documentary is now available at the store. If you pre-ordered one and haven't picked it up yet, be sure to call 928-927-6551 to be sure the store is open. Paul is looking forward to being back to the bookstore and getting ready for the winter season again. Quartzsite TOPS Chapter 0078 Meets at the Quartzsite Alliance Church, 720 W Desert Vista. TOPS meets MAYBE HE SAVED A LIFE My husband and I along with my mother and father went to the Grubstake for a fun night and Tacos. While sitting outside wait- ing for the event to kick off we witnessed a man, who seemed to be very intoxicated drive up in his car, enter the bar/restaurant. He came back out was stumbled to his car. A man they called Donny or Butch saw, what looked like, a very intoxicated man trying to get into his car. Butch/Donny was not go- ing to let the intoxicated man drive the man. The man gave Donny/ Butch a real hard time but that did not stop Donny/Butch from doing the right thing and he pulled the man out of the car, took his keys and gave them to a woman trying to talk him out of driving. I really want this to be published to show folks we all need to do what we can to keep people safe. Donny/ Butch was a very brave man and I feel he may have saved a life or two and maybe more, by his brave actions of not letting this man drive in the condition he was in. I want to thank this very brave man that put others fi rst. Thank you Donny-Butch for your heroic actions. I ask for this to be put in the Desert Messenger to others know we all have a part in combating this problem. I have worked with M.A.D.D. chapters all over the country and I don't recom- mend doing what Donny-Butch did to stop this man. Once again I feel like he just may have saved a life or two and even maybe more!! Thank you Barb & Tom
