May 2, 2018 www.DesertMessenger.com 11 We are now on our summer schedule. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Our new hours are now 8:00 to 12:00. Donations during open hours or with a phone call please. Thanks for understanding that we do not want items sitting outside, as this only encourages theft and van- dalism. Remember we do not take mattresses, "fat televisions", or print- ers. "Would you give it to a friend?" is our motto. We are always looking for summertime volunteers. Anyone that likes to check electronics and small appliances is most welcome. Our building is air-conditioned and we do have fun. On your next visit, ask for a volunteer application. You can choose your hours and day/s that fi t your schedule. This Special Olympics Torch Run silent auction quilt event ends on Thurs- day May 3rd. We will continue these silent auctions during the summer months for other community events. We will make announcement next is- sue what our total donation to Special Olympics has been for this season. Our team ran, walked, and biked today. We have a nice piece of safety glass available. Piece is quite large, measures 54 inches by 42 inches and is ¾ inch thick. Be cre- ative and think of a use- great patio table top. Priced to sell. Thanks again to all our dedicated volunteers that are leaving for their other homes. It takes a village to run such a large operation. You all are so appreciated.
