Selin Kent
Selin Kent is a New York- based jewelry
designer who hails from Instanbul, Turkey.
Launched in 2013, Selin Kent's fi ne jewelry
collection is characterized by a minimalist
vocabulary of clean lines and bold, archi-
tectural forms. Incorporating 14k gold with
precious stones, a refi ned yet playful sensibil-
ity is applied to each piece. Unique stacking
options are explored, such as rings that fi t into
each other like puzzle pieces. Elegance and
balance in design is achieved through a careful
study and application of geometry and pro-
portion. The collection consists of modern
staples that are understated yet striking, and
edgy yet sophisticated.
Selin recently created her Ersa Collection, a
beautiful series of fl oating diamonds inspired
by the mythological goddess of dew! The
pear shaped diamonds, particularly when
hanging reminded Selin of drops or tears so
she wanted the name to relate to water some-
how. We often see diamonds set in metal, but
Selin liked the idea of somehow "freeing" them
from these constraints and seeing them in their
most natural light, which led her to look into
the process of having them drilled instead of
set in metal.
