The last semester, like most, proved to be a great one for community activity. Since Islander Week, we participated in two more large and very successful philanthropy events. Fiji Run against K-State was the first. Combined, we raised $8,065, half of which came from KU Fiji leading us to another win. Our second big philanthropic event was meal packing with Kappa Alpha Theta. Together we raised $5,000, but it doesn't stop there. This event also accounted for over 100 hours of community service as Brothers went to Theta's house to package the 15,000 meals. We also managed an average of 14-plus community service hours per member through several different events such as blood drives, Natural Ties, and Edge Hill cleaning. Looking to the future, we have a suicide awareness event planned with Sigma Nu, the Big Event hosted by KU, and opportunities we are looking into with the Humane Society.
