Jay Galla '85 X1252 Continues Success in India
Alumnus Meets Prime Minister of Japan and Former Secretary of State, John Kerry
W
e are very honored to report that our Brother Jay Galla '85
X1252 continues to amaze us in his distinguished career in his
home country, India. He is a managing director of Amara Raja Group
and a distinguished member of India Parliament. Jay was appointed
Electrical Industries governor and Global Battery Alliance principal
at the World Economic Forum gathering in Davos, Switzerland, last
January. His first time at the Davos Forum, Jay was pleased to be a
presenter at important sessions and to join The Honorable Narendra
Modi, Prime Minister of India, and several other dignitaries addressing
the Forum's "Theme India" sessions. He also met former Secretary
of State John Kerry and got his card! But not done elbow-rubbing,
Jay was honored the next month to join other Parliament members
in meetings with His Excellency Shinzō Abe, the Prime Minister of
Japan, to discuss subjects of bilateral and strategic interest between
India and Japan. On top of so capably representing his constituents
and supporting Chi Zeta, Jay is really racking up the airline miles! But
seriously, our sincere congratulations and pride to Brother Galla!
