2 T he fall semester brought academic accomplish- ment for many of our brothers. Fiy-six of our 250 members earned a spot on the Chancellor's Honor Role and 23 of the men achieved a 4.0 GPA! Elsewhere on campus, Wills Hay '20 (West Point, Miss.) was named lead peer educator for Rebels Against Sexual Assault where Hack Smith '19 (Corinth, Miss.) is also a peer educator. In the community, Mikhail Love '19 (Jackson, Miss.) sits as co-di- rector of transportation and Carl Upton '19 (Jackson, Miss.) is the co-director of logistics for the Ole Miss Big Event, the largest day of community service in the state of Missis- sippi. Miss chapter of Coaching for Literacy, an organization which leverages the power and influ- ence of athletics to develop suc- cessful readers. is semester we will be re- vamping Derby Days, chaired by Brother Hay and Tom Fowlkes '20 (Memphis, Tenn.), in hopes of making a difference in the Ox- ford community and the state of Mississippi as a whole. We will partner with three philanthropic organizations. is year's efforts will again support Mississippi Blood Services and the Oxford Food Pantry through a blood and canned/per- ishable food drive, respectively. Our third initia- tive, and foremost goal for the week, will be to support the William Magee Center for Wellness Education, which is being constructed within the new South Campus Recreational Center. With the purpose of addressing the issues of drug and alcohol misuse on our Ole Miss campus, this center will be a refuge to all who struggle with abuse and addiction. We will close our week of service with an event at the Old Armory—it'll be an aernoon of music, food, and friendly com- petition. Organizations who choose to become title sponsors will be entered into the barbecue cook-off, and the champion of the week's events will be named. As we hope you'll agree, the members of Eta Chapter continue to succeed academically and strive to improve every aspect of our Ole Miss and Oxford communities.
