delta-sig.org ALPHA ETA: SEEING 100 YEARS CLEARLY IN 2020 e date has been set, and we are officially less than two years away from celebrating 100 years of brotherhood at Alpha Eta. is is truly one the biggest milestones a Chapter can reach, and we want as many brothers and their families to enjoy the celebration with us. e ACB is working diligently to make this event special for every generation and every brother. In each issue of the Link leading up to the event, we will include more information about the weekend and what you will need to do to reserve your and your family's place. ere will be a Facebook event created that you can check for more current updates about times, hotels, and prices. Here is what we have been working on so far: Date: February 14-16, 2020 Location: Lima Civic Center, Lima, Ohio You can e-mail questions to DeltaSigAH@ gmail.com. Friday night: ere will be an informal check- in for the weekend. It will be an opportunity for you to meet brothers, young and old, or brothers who you have not seen in years. Saturday: ACB is looking into transportation from the Lima Civic Center to our Chapter house and back, so you can relive your time in the house and check out how things have changed or not changed. Saturday night: ACB will be hosting a semi- formal dinner for all Alpha Eta alumni and their families at the Lima Civic Center. We will host raffles, music, dinner, speakers, awards, and yes, there will be a bar. It will be a time to reminisce, laugh, meet new people, and create new memories. e ACB wants every brother included in the preparation and to start, we are putting together a book full of memories, stories, and photographs from all generations of our Chapter. We can include as many composites as we can and photos of the artifacts at the Chapter house, but you brothers are what make these 100 years so special. It is your personal stories, it is things you have taken away from your time in the Chapter, and we want to showcase as much as we can. Please e-mail your stories, photos, or pictures of artifacts to DeltaSigAH@gmail.com. If you are taking a photo of something for us, please take it with a digital camera and not a camera on your phone. If you have old photos that are not digital, please scan them with a high resolution and e-mail them as an attachment. Please include as many names of brothers in the photos that you can. We look forward to celebrating with you in 2020. We Need Your Help to Make It a Memorable Experience ALPHA ETA ON THE PATH TO IMPROVEMENT AcAdemics And RecRuitment ARe top Focuses e Chapter is coming off of a strong semester of growth, and the brothers are excited to see what is in store next for this spring semester. With 32 brothers, the Chapter is focused on improving academics and recruitment techniques along with aligning the values of the brotherhood to match those of the modern day. A few house improvements have taken place with the biggest being the purchase of a new refrig- erator for our lovely housemother, Wilma. e equipment in the kitchen is old, and the Chapter will continue to replace it as needed. ere are plans for replacing the kitchen door and some oth- er cosmetic improvements around the house. e new flag pole looks incredible on the tundra side of the house, and seeing the flag allows everyone to reflect on the impact Brother Loren Schoen- berger '39 had on the brotherhood. e Chapter received an award for our dedication ceremony for the flag pole, which made the experience even more impactful. Alpha Eta's focus on academics showed last semester. e Chapter's GPA improved by 0.2, and with the implementation of a new academic plan, the sky is the limit. We are also excited about future recruitment training from headquarters to assist the Chapter in gaining new members. Overall, the brotherhood is well on its way to improving. With high motivation and a drive to improve, the Chapter has a strong outlook for the future.
