ACB Meeting Saturday, April 28 1 p.m. Homecoming 2018 Friday, October 26 to Sunday, October 28 Centennial Celebration February 14-16, 2020 e venue is set and the Lima Civic Center is booked to celebrate 100 consecutive years of being an active Chapter. delta-sig.org ALUMNI CONTROL BOARD MEMBERS parent. Changing ACB presidents is not a new change for many. It is one, however, we have not had to deal with recently; so, it is unfamiliar. For those experienced with this transition, it may be uncomfortable for a lit- tle bit, but that is to be expected. e good news for all our brothers is the transition has been seamless. Prior to being elected, I had been working closely with Zeedyk in preparation for this transition. With no de- sire to be a place marker, I plan to do as my predecessor has done and make the Chapter and ACB better than when I joined. ere are many challenges ahead of us. From coast to coast, society is changing, and views on Greek organizations are changing as well, usually for the negative. is is not for Alpha Eta. As brothers, we know our Chapter, this bond we share, is not the stereotypical fraternity one would find at any other college or university. at does not mean we are not under the same micro- scope. e ACB and I hold the Chapter to higher standards as all of our alumni should, and we expect the actives to be better men. As an ACB our continued work is going to be to help lead and guide the Chapter and navigate these changing views while finding a way to stay true to our own Alpha Eta traditions and culture. I am excited for the changes to come. I am excited to be in a position to "repay the debt" to a Chapter I cherish. I am excited to work with every one of you. Remem- ber, without you coming before us to pave the way, we would have no need to move forward. Delts Leaving Their Mark by Serving the Community Philanthropy and community service has been, and always will be, incredibly important for the brotherhood. Coming out of the fall semester, the Chapter won an award for best philanthropic event, the Delt Dinger Derby. e event helped raise more than $700 for the Northwest Miracle League, a special needs baseball league. e brotherhood cannot wait to keep hosting this event every fall. ere are plans to attend and volunteer at a Miracle League game to better get to know some of the children who participate. Continuing to volunteer in the special needs community, the brotherhood recently participated in Night to Shine. is event is a prom dance hosted for special needs children in the local area. e brothers who participated paired up with buddies and helped them have an incredible night. In February, the Chapter hosted its annual Polar Plunge event. e Chapter raised $2,000 for the American Red Cross. Every brother would agree that jumping in the icy water doesn't get any easier, but everyone always has a great time. More community service events will be happening throughout the semester. Brothers will volun- teer at the Ada mini-baseball league, highway cleanups, and participate other events that come up. Showing support for the community is important for the Chapter and helps bring positive views on Greek life.
