Main St. Quartzsite Open Tues. thru Sat. 9-3 928-927-4223 The Pastors, Wayne and Linda Babcock, the congregation and all our volunteers would like to thank all of the wonderful people of Quartzsite and our faithful snow- birds for the many ways they help us throughout the year. First we'd like to thank our Mayor Norm Simpson for personally do- nating 65 new chairs for our inside dining area. Your words of encour- agement mean so much to us. It's a comfort to have a mayor that truly inspires those he serves. There have been so many organizations that have helped us this year. If I should happen to forget to mention any of you please don't take offense. None of us are perfect and I will be fi rst to admit I am not, but striving to im- prove. Thank you Salvation Army for your donations for our Thanks- giving and Christmas dinners. Thank you ladies at Brenda Gold Star for your generous food and fi nancial donations and most importantly your prayers! Cowboy Church and all the other local churches —Thank you so much for your generous food and fi nancial donations. It is truly appreciated. Ken's Discount Gro- cery—thanks for your discount and generous donations. Star Discount Grocery, you are awesome for your discounts and very generous do- nations. Oney Budge from Moun- tain Quail Make Quartzsite Great hats sale for your donation monies. Quartzsite Women's Club for your fi nancial help! Yay! Quartzsite Met- al Detectors also thanks so much. I am sure there are more of you out there that have blessed this minis- try with donations. Especially for our drain system repair, time when we had to shut down for a month, many came by donating help and money. The most important point is God knows who you are and He will bless you. I would like to reaffi rm that we are a faith based ministry. Everything that comes in goes into the ministry needs. All here at Isaiah 58 volun- teer their services and tithe to the ministry including the pastors. Thank you all so much for your love, care, concern and prayers. It's been an honor to serve this commu- nity and its residents and also those traveling through that are in need of a little help. We can't do every- thing for everyone but our hearts are to help those we can with what we have. Over the years we have served in Quartzsite our main goal is to be a good steward of what God provides through the generosity of His people. God's blessings to you now and in the days ahead. In sincere gratitude, Pastors Wayne and Linda Babcock and all our volunteers La Paz Passport readies for 4th season Thanks to all who participated in and supported the events in this year's La Paz County Passport to Adventure. It was the last Quartzsite jam forever for Conra and Todd Marsh. It was the memorial jam for Charlie Cornelius who died March 21, 2018. And possibly it was the last jam for others who won't be back next fall. Infi rmity and death: they slowly reduce the number of musicians. Thank God for new, younger musicians. We welcome them, we need them. Many, many no longer sing and play-making music in the desert. Those who remain are getting older every day (aren't we all?) You may wonder what we see in those creaky, weak, trembling performers. Why do we lis- ten to their cracking off-key performances? Is it because we see ourselves in a few short years? Not so robust, not so confi dent. Is that why we so appreciate their love of music, the effort, the desire to please an audience? We wait as they drag themselves onstage, adjust the mic', and give every ounce of breath they have. Some even remove their oxygen in order to sing. Some leave it on and drag their oxygen tanks to the stage with them. Ah, that's what we applaud: the dogged determination to make music once again, to hear the audience applaud and relive the memories of glo- rious days gone by. Oh, yes, there are the younger ones, the just-as-good-as-professional ones, we enjoy them. We look forward to seeing them again. But we love the ones who disregarding their own comfort give their all to make music in the desert. We fervently hope and pray that all will be back next year and, God willing, so will we. 585 N.
