As always, the semester was filled with many activities ranging from recruitment, brotherhood events, and service opportunities. is spring we look forward to maintaining our positive presence on MSU's campus while continuing to build gentlemen for the future. CHAPTER WELCOMES 43 NEW BROTHERS Over the past few months Gamma eta has seen a tremendous amount of growth in membership. e chapter added 43 new brothers, bringing the total active membership to 95 men. We are immensely proud to introduce our new brothers to the Pi Kappa Alpha brotherhood. GAMMA THETA GIVES BACK On January 20, we partnered with and volunteered to support the annual Frostbite half- marathon. is is an annual event supporting local groups in Starkville and Oktibbeha County. is year, the half-marathon supported the Starkville Fire Department, which is especially fitting for our chapter. We helped stuff swag bags full of T-shirts and other items for race participants and assisted in the registration of participants. On the morning of the race, members were stationed across the race course to help encourage racers and direct them on the correct routes to take. Gamma eta also assisted Tri Delta with Operation Christmas Child, which donates shoeboxes of toys and much needed items to children in underprivileged areas of the world. We donated over 300 boxes to the project. is spring, we plan on hosting our annual Pikes for Pups event that supports the Oktibbeha County Humane Society and other local animal shelters. e event will be the aernoon of Friday, April 6, in the front yard of the Pike chapter house. is event has grown over the past few years and has become a good way for our members to interact and build strong relationships with the Greek community at MSU while helping a number of pups find their forever homes. Gamma eta has also been working hard to continue on our annual charity baseball game, the Pike Diamond Classic. is year's game will be held on March 31 at 11 a.m. on the field at Starkville Academy. All proceeds are going to the Taylor Trudeau Foundation, which supports cancer research. THANK YOU, ALUMNI On November 11, the chapter hosted a reception for the Alabama football game at the Pike chapter house. A number of alumni were able to attend and many brought friends, family, and other guests to visit the chapter house. Even though these events yield fantastic attendance, we would like to extend the invitation for alumni, family, and friends to visit the chapter house any time they are in Starkville.
