Only I have been volunteering at Carol's Cupboard our local Food Bank for quite some time and so many times there are needs that we are not able to provide. These needs are to as- sist in providing warmer clothes and coats for this colder weather, infants and school age children's shoes and clothes, personal toiletry items, clean socks and much more from those who cannot afford it or the marginalized. I took this very much to heart and The Friends of the Quartzsite Food Bank Board, made up of Lois Dupre, Richard Trustee and my husband Gene Ross and myself, decided it was important enough that we con- tacted our County Supervisor Duce Minor and requested the use of the building which is next to the present Food Bank. We have just signed a formal contract for its use and have looked at the inside of the building. It has a wonderful area for a Cloth- ing Closet and also has other space for extra storage for the food bank, and a potential meeting room space that could be utilized by other orga- nizations in the future. There is much work to do and there are many preliminary set up items that are needed before we can open our doors. I am trying to locate stable clothing racks, and also a few hundred hangers for both adult clothes as well as children's. We could use donations, possibly from some of the local vendors and clubs, churches, organizations and private folks who would be willing to do- nate items that we need. If this is something that has struck your heart to pass your kindness forward this New Year, Please con- tact me, Maggie Ross at 360-490- 8175. I can use suggestions and help in any way you can provide it. Thank you. Maggie Ross, Organizer Carol's Closet Read Desert MESSENGER ONLINE @ www.MyQuartzsite.com 208-290-5102 BUILDING PROJECTS?
