She was born to the late R.B. & Effine Hudson Reynolds on September 9, 1965. She is also pre- deceased by her husband, William Jackson Adams; brother, Steven Jerome Reynolds. Sherry leaves behind to cherish her memories her 3 daughters, Sheree Cunningham, Marie Adams & Insley Osteen (Casey); sisters, Rita Swink of Shelby & Terry Irvin (Willie) of Lawndale; brothers, Randy Reynolds (Deborah) of Cherryville, David Reynolds (girlfriend, Rachel) of Ellenboro, Rev. Timmy Reynolds (Amy) of Ellenboro & Danny Reynolds (Rita) of Virginia; 5 grand- children; many special nieces & nephews. She worked in textiles until she became sick. She loved being around her family. She was a wonderful mother, sister & grandmother. A memorial service was held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Shelby. Services are entrusted to Robert Morgan Funeral & Cremation Service of Boiling Springs, NC. STEVEN MICHAEL HUTCHINS Steven Michael Hutchins, age 39, of Rutherfordton passed away December 28 2017. He was preceded in death by Maternal Grandparents Charlie & Nola Foster of Spindale & Niece Arwen Little of Mayfield Kentucky Born on May 25, 1978 on the US Air Force Base in Britburg, Germany, Steven was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, graduated from RS Central & worked in the Sporting Goods Dept of Walmart for several years. Steven was an avid collector of memorabilia, computer enthusiast, loved his dogs, reading, drawing & taking road trips with his wife who affectionately called him "Cleatus". Steven is survived by his devoted wife Malikka "Kiki" Shaw Hutchins of the home; Parents Larry & Sylvia Hutchins of Rutherfordton; Paternal Grandparents Glenn & Polly Hutchins of Rutherfordton; Sister Shelly Little & husband John of Mayfield Kentucky & numerous beloved family mem- bers & friends. A memorial service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 250 Mt Pleasant Church Rd., Forest City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Steven Hutchins Memorial Fund. Croweʼs Mortuary is assisting the family. NANCY CONNER HANCOCK Nancy Conner Hancock, age 74, of Gilkey, passed away December 31, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Avery Laxton Conner and the late Margaret Frady Conner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Jack L. Conner. Nancy loved to paint and taught painting classes. She also loved going to the beach. She is survived by her husband: Walter Eugene Hancock Sr. One Daughter: Catina Carol Melton and her husband Mitch of Bostic. Two Sons: Avery Stewart Hancock of Gilkey, Walter Eugene Hancock Jr. and his wife Janet Rosey of Gilkey. One Brother: George Lorenzo Conner and his wife Marilyn of Gilkey. Two Sisters: Joyce Conner Ward and her husband Lewis of Rutherfordton, Linda Conner Waters and her husband Don of Sherrills Ford, NC. Three Grandchildren. The funeral service was held at Gilkey United Methodist Church. Rev Jack Bridges and Rev Charles McClure officiated. Interment was held at Gilkey United Methodist Church Cemetery. CATHERINE MCGINNIS COOPER Catherine McGinnis Cooper, age 82, passed away January 2, 2018. A native of Rutherford County, she was a daugh- ter of the late James Adam McGinnis and Jessie Mae Henson McGinnis and widow of the late John Harrill Cooper. She was the execu- tive secretary for Mastercraft Corporation, a graduate of Cool Springs High School where she was voted most athletic her senior year and excelled in basketball, and was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to her par- ents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John Mark Cooper. Survivors include her sons, Keith Cooper of Forest City, and Scott Cooper of Mooresville; a daughter, Pam Wilkins of Haw River, NC; a brother, Ken McGinnis of Bostic, sisters, Carolyn Harrill of Forest City, Joyce Heavner of Shelby, Judy Webb and Rita Dodson, both of Ellenboro; twelve grandchil- dren and eight great grand- children. Funeral services were held in the Padgett & King chapel. Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. MADISON GRACE & MACEY DAWN WOODARD Madison Grace and Macey Dawn Woodward, twin daugh- ters of Kasey Woodard of Spindale, went home to be with their heavenly father December 31, 2017. In addition to their moth- er, they are survived by grand- parents, Donna Woodard of Forest City & Brian & Sabrina Woodard of McDowell County; 2 sisters, McKenzie Mock & Sadie Woodard & a broth- er, Levi Woodard all of the home; 3 aunts, Kendall Frye of Hickory, Kellie Woodard of Spindale & Katie Woodard of Forest City. EDITH TESENIAR OWENS Edith Teseniar Owens, age 93, of Forest City, passed away January 4, 2018. Born May 8, 1924 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Landrum Teseniar & Sally Elizabeth Liverette Teseniar. She worked for Cone Mills, Cliffside and Avondale Plants for over 25 years before retiring & was of the Baptist faith. Edith enjoyed quilting & gardening. She had an unselfish & compassionate heart toward those in need & especially cared for children of all ages. Edith loved her family dearly & took pleasure in serving them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David Owens; 2 brothers, Boyd and Lemuel Teseniar; four sisters, Mary Jane Owenby, Sarah Mae Teseniar, Violet Teseniar, Creola Price and three half- brothers, Quince, Bill and Alonzo Teseniar. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter and caretaker, Creola O. Coffey and husband, Allen of Forest City; one son, Charles Edgar Owens and wife, Teresa of Duncan, SC; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons. The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Rev Lanny J. Funchess and Rev Billy Poe Jones officiated. Interment fol- lowed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements. ETHEL CHANEY HUDLOW Ethel Chaney Hudlow of Forest City, born in Suffolk Virginia, passed away January 5, 2018. Left to cherish her mem- ory is her husband Hayden, daughter Janice (Ron) Chamberlain of Rocky Mount, NC, sons Hayden (Belinda) Hudlow of Forest City and David Hudlow of Hagerstown, Maryland. Ethel is also sur- vived by her 8 grandchildren. She also has sixteen great grandchildren, a sister and three brothers. Memorial services were held at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Forest City. Rev. Jack Agustus Rich, Sr., age 77 of Bostic, passed away January 3, 2018. A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late William Augustus Rich and Ruth Henson Rich; for- mer owner of Rich's Garage, and a veteran, having served in the Army National Guard. Survivors include three sons, Jack Rich and wife Shirley of Forest City, Jeff Rich and wife Anita of Bostic, Jeremy Rich and wife Barbie of Lattimore, a daughter, Jill Mills and husband Terry of Mill Spring, eight grandchil- dren, six step grandchildren, 7 grand dogs, 8 grand cats, eight great grandchildren, and his former wife, Vickie Rich of Bostic. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Rutherford County Humane Society, 531 Railroad Ave, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. The Padgett & King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. ARNOLD RAY CROTTS Arnold Ray Crotts, age 64 of Forest City, passed away January 2, 2018. He was born on March 7, 1953 in Rutherford County and was a son of the late Bertie Lee and Hazel Earley Crotts. Arnold worked in tex- tiles for most of his life, first with Cone Mills and later with Abercrombie Textiles where he retired. He was a simple man who loved his family and enjoyed his grandchil- dren. He was especially proud of his grandson, who serves in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jennifer Davis Crotts, brothers, Jim Crotts, Bill Crotts, and sister, Martha Kay Smith. Survivors include a daughter, Meranda Crotts Bradley of Forest City, grandson and wife of Fort Hood, Texas, grand- daughter of Bostic and one great-grandson. Arnold will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Jennifer in a private service for his immediate family. The Padgett & King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. BOBBY HOWE Bobby Howe, age 53, of Forest City, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away January 2, 2018. Born August 1, 1964 in Lancaster County, PA, he was the son of Robert Eugene Howe, Sr. and Laura Harsh Howe who both reside in Lancaster. Bobby worked as a truck driver for Republic Services and most recently for J B Russell Trucking. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed attending car shows, trips to the beach and having cookouts with friends and family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Melissa Howe; daughter, Kandi Santiago and husband, Emmanuel of Spindale; son, Robert Howe of Lancaster; one brother, Bryan Howe of Lancaster and a sister, Shyla Baldwin and husband, Terry of Ft. Collins, Colorado. Three grandchildren also survive him. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
