The Cleveland County Senior Games are for adults age 50 or better and is a holistic approach to keeping the body, mind and spirit fit while enjoying the company of friends, family, spectators and volunteers. In the Senior Games, the activities include pickle ball, corn hole, shuffleboard, swimming, bowling and many other activities to select. The SilverArts highlights the talents related to art, handicrafts, photography and written works, such as poetry and essays. It also includes performing arts, including singing, dance and acting. The games will be March 5-9, 2018 and the regis- tration packet will contain all the needed information about the games, calendar of activities, the required forms to register, etc. The SilverArts will be April 2-6, 2018 at the Neal Senior Center. Like the Senior Games, a packet will be available that contains the required information about registration, the areas of entry, etc. For additional information on the SilverArts, please call Daniel Dedmon at the COA/Neal Senior Center at 704/482-3488. In 2017, the number of participants in the Senior Games/Silver Arts increased over the 2016 games. Let us work to make the participating numbers even higher for 2018! Another Kick-Off for the Kings Mountain area is set for Friday, February 2, 2018 at 10AM at the Patrick Senior Center. Monday - Depart from Senior Center in Shelby at 7:00 am. Check into hotel on arrival. Lodging is 3 night at Fairfield Inn. Depart for dinner (included) at one of the great Colonial Tavern restaurants at 6:00 pm. Tuesday - Deluxe continental breakfast at the hotel. 3 Hour guided tour of the Colonial Williamsburg Village. Lunch is on your own in the Village. Your all day ticket will allow extra time to explore more of the village and some of the retail shops. Dinner (included) at The Whaling Company. Wednesday - Breakfast at hotel. Depart at 8:30 am for a guided tour of Jamestown Settlement. Lunch on your own. Depart at 12:30 for guided tour of The Yorktown Center. Return to hotel at 4:00 pm. Depart at 5:00 for dinner (included) a Sal's Ristorante. After dinner, enjoy evening entertainment at Colonial Williamsburg. Thursday - Breakfast at hotel. Bags out a 7:00 am. Depart at 8:00 am for Bedford, VA. Lunch on your own. We then visit the National D-Day Memorial before we make our way home. We expect a full bus for this exciting trip.
