We have several big proj- ects happening simultaneously. First, our Angel Tree is loaded with tags of children identifi ed by local agencies and submitted to the QFD. We are working with local schools, Home School Group, QPD, La Casa Apts., and the Food bank for suggested names. Come in and choose a tag and earn your Angel wings by going shop- ping and making a Quartzsite child's Christmas special. For many children, this may be their only Christmas. Pres- ents will be delivered by Quartzsite Fire and Police Departments. Second, our Bell Ringers have already been seen at local businesses. Thanks go out to: Dollar General, Family Dollar, Gen- eral Store, Herb's Hardware, HCB Bank, Post Offi ce, and RoadRunner Market. We can always use additional ringers. Our Red Kettle Campaign last year sent 12 local kids to TSA week long summer camp-actually the largest number of kiddos from any Service Center in the southwest territory. Third, Santa will make his appear- ance here, Saturday December 16th. Children and those childlike adults can go home with their picture taken with Santa. Children will receive a new back- pack and make choices from Santa's toy shelfs. Parents as Teachers® will again this year have a fun craft project for the children as they wait their turn to talk to Santa. We have several square-dancing out- fi ts and accessories that will be put out tomorrow, December 7th. Come see this nice collection. We will be closed Saturday, Decem- ber 23, Sunday 24, and Monday De- cember 25, so that our volunteers can spend time with family and friends. Thanks for your patience and under- standing that at times we can only take small bags of donations. We have a small storage area and back covered porch, that at times has been overfl ow- ing. We are processing as quickly as humanly possible. We have been hav- ing tremendous sales, too. Check out our ever-changing daily specials. Remember we no longer take mat- tresses, fat TVs, books that have been wet, and items that you wouldn't give to a friend. Donations during business hours unless the Donation Cart is out front please. Thanks so much for understanding. Our parking lot is being rede- signed to prevent fl ooding and provide a much-needed sidewalk. We will continue to have construc- tion cones for a while. Please drive and park cautiously. We have a new pair of size 6 Bauer black ice skates still in the box. Come check them out when you fi nd a nearby ice pond. Thanks Lu, Maris, and Marilyn P. for returning shopping bags fl attened out for us. We use a lot of bags daily. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. May your Christmas bring happy thoughts and memories to us all.
