Biggers Ritual Trophy • General Headquarters Award • Community Service Commendation • Outstanding Excellence Award • Excellence in Recruitment and Retention • Excellence in Scholarship Award We also received the following awards from Butler University: • 4-star chapter • Commendation in New Member Education • Commendation in Scholarship • Outstanding Community Service • Outstanding Philanthropy • Jennifer Griggs, Faculty Advisor of the Year Phi Delta eta's Campus and Community Involvement O ur Chapter is committed to serving the Indianapolis community and sponsors at least four community service events per se- mester. Some of the events we have taken part in over the last year are described below. Tutoring Program • Established a one-of-a-kind program with the Indy Learning Team to help promote literacy to underprivileged children at- tending an Indianapolis public school • Monday-Thursday two to four brothers work with kids one-on-one to help im- prove vital reading skills • Impact Focused Community Service: Program refocuses our Chapter's purpose for serving. The goal is not just to complete the required community service hours, but to make a positive impact in the Indianapolis community. Tour de Cure – American Diabetes As- sociation (Saturday, Oct. 7) • Serve cyclists lunch, water on the course, and cheer them on • Joint event with Alpha Chi Omega • Expected attendance was 40 people Elementary School Event (Spring 2017) • Helped young kids with academics and played with kids • The event was done with the ladies of Pi Beta Phi Our Chapter has also been hard at work plan- ning a variety of social events for brothers of the Chapter to enjoy.
